Job Title: Circus Coach
Status: Part-Time / Hourly
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Description: Cirque MKE is seeking additional coaches to instruct a variety of ground and aerial circus disciplines utilizing safe and inclusive coaching techniques. Our coaches are responsible for fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
The ideal candidate is experienced in coaching two or more circus/movement disciplines, however hands-on training / assistant coaching positions may be offered for the right candidate(s).
Core Responsibilities:
- Coach circus classes in a progressive and accessible manner while emphasizing safety, technique, and expression
- Develop class plans with level-appropriate progressions
- Provide spotting and/or modifications to students as needed
- Create an engaging and inclusive class environment for students
- Assist in hosting showcases, parties, and other events as needed
- Adhere to all studio policies and procedures
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Two or more years experience coaching one or more of the following disciplines:
- Aerials: Sling, Lyra, Silks, Trapeze, Rope
- Ground: Yoga, Juggling, Flexibility/Contortion, Tumbling, Conditioning, Dance (ballet, hip hop, or contemporary preferred)
- Collaborative team player with community-focused attitude
- Safety-focused, including proactively following industry safety standards for your discipline(s)
- Passion for circus arts and building the Milwaukee circus community
